I uncovered my passion for music during my first guitar lesson - or, during my best friend's first guitar lesson. We had a good deal - he would take the lessons, and I would practice for him. From that point on, I was hooked and submersed myself in choir, musicals, and song writing.
From Jersey City, to Hells Kitchen, to Baltimore. From bartender to DJ to composer, we just love to write music!
Currently, I am working on getting a band together. Imagine violin, guitar, kanun, and narrator/vocalist. I had a bit of that last November with the premier of my piece, Feather. I'll get a recording out so you can experience the ~magic~!

Being of Egyptian heritage, I think there is a great deal of insight from the music of the traditional Arabic world. With great success, my Orchestral work, Habeena, Habeena, since its premier at them 2023 Mostly Modern Festival, being awarded a Citation from the Mayor's Office of New York City and is a finalist for the Marvin Hamlisch 2024 Award in Classical Composition.
I think my music is transforming and, in a way, stepping backwards to my rock roots. In the cage match of Classical Music v.s. Pop Music, I don't know where I'd place my bets.
This is a wild tune! Based on the Egyptian popular song, "Habeena, Habeena", this orchestral work seeks to imbue a sense of arabic improvisation with contemporary American new music techniques.
This nifty piece, fashioned to be like a night out, with all its twists and turn, starts off optimistic, bushy-tailed, even. Then, solemn and alone. Then, finally, boisterous and rowdy. Like a good night out should be!
